The Future...

I was thinking last night and this morning about how exhilarating the future is. I know there are a few folks who are pessimistic about the future but really, I think most of us get excited when we think about the possibilities. I know I sure do.
I make plans, imagine things working out well and picture what might happen. It's just really very exciting! I've got a whole bunch of stuff that I'm hoping happens in the next few weeks and months. I can hardly wait.
What about you? Are you hopeful about the future? Take a few minutes to share with the rest of us what you're dreaming about. Name one or two things that you hope will happen in the next few months. It doesn't have to be spiritual, although it can be. Maybe you're hoping for a job, or a wife, or a big piece of chocolate pie. Just share. When everyone is done, I'll share my hopes and dreams with you.

  2. I'm just can't stand it that Melissa beat me here...

Seriously, I know God has a plan and we are just catching a glimpse of what He has in store for Faith Baptist Church! Pastor Bill nailed it last night when he said we all need to do our part to be what we need to make this successful. I know it is a tough time economically, but it's in crisis times that people are looking for something in their lives. We as a church and individuals need to be ready to share Christ to a hurting community. The opportunity is awesome, we just need to get our focus on Him and it is hard to imagine where He will take our church. Follow Jesus!

Make mine blueberry pie... ala mode!

  3. The first things that I want to see happen is that I beat Mark & Melissa in Pathwords on Facebook!

    Just kidding!

I really want FBC to become the church that God wants to be! He hasn't led us through trials and tribulations the past several months for nothing! I also want us to become "of one heart and ones soul" to reach out and minister to people that live around us; maybe in a form that we might not be comfortable with, but people who die and live in hell for eternity will definitely not be comfortable!
The other thing I want to see happen soon is that my younger brother starts coming to church!

Oh, btw, make mine white chocolate raspberry cheesecake!

  6. Anticipation, Webster describes it as "the act of looking forward" or "the visualization of a future event". I would have to describe it as "the period of time leading up to march 15th". Often times throughout our lives we anticipate things that seem so important at that particular time. Getting our drivers license, moving out of our parents home or getting married and starting family or getting a job and buying that home we've always dreamed of having. Many things in life offer us varing degrees of importance. As I've grown older my church life has grown in importance. March 15, 2009 has the potential to be a very important date to very many people. People we worship with and people we don't even know. God has great and mighty plans for Faith Baptist Church and I for one am looking forward with great "anticipation". P.S. I'll have Coconut Creme from Market Street.

  7. I agree with Dan. I too am anticipating with much excitement March 15th, 2009. I have never been part of starting a new church. It has been very rewarding at times and other times have been very, very difficult wondering what God was up to.
But oh, the anticipation of things to come! Let's raise the roof and let the world know that "Jesus is in the house!"
